Our Vision

Causeway LGBT Network exists to engage with and improve the quality of life of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans' people in the Causeway Coast and surrounding areas. Through this we aim to reduce isolation and provide support, health information and social networking opportunities for people who identify as LGBT, their families and friends.

Aims

We will do this by:

  • Providing appropriate spaces for social networking, gaining information and self-help support.
  • Involving and supporting people from the groups mentioned above in raising awareness, advocacy, lobbying, and campaigning for policy change.
  • Developing and maintaing relationships with other organisations, funding bodies in the voluntary, community and statutory sectors.
We are primarily a social network for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans' people whilst also working with bodies such as the Police Service of Northern Ireland to deal with issues such as Hate Crime.

History

Causeway LGB Network was established in November 2006 to provide a range of services across the Causeway Coast - Coleraine, Portrush Portstewart, Ballycastle, Ballymoney, Bushmills and Limavady.
In November 2007 it was decided to include 'Transgender' in our remit, constitution and name.

Volunteering

Causeway LGBT Network is run entirely by volunteers who meet monthly to plan future events and activities. We are always keen to welcome new volunteers/members and will make an effort to match your skills and interests to enhance your experience and that of all participants.
